YOYO English Club Is Looking for Fresh Blood! YOYO English Club is a perfect solution for those who have been fed up with traditional English cram schools and looking for an inexpensive but viable alternative to sharpen their English conversation or presentation skills. Why do I say it is inexpensive? Since the only expense incurred is a cup of coffee! Located in Taipei, YOYO English Club is a non-profit group consisting of people from all walks of life – the majority of them are office workers. It has accumulated more than 200 members since 2001. Regular meetings are held twice a week at coffee shops – one on Wednesday evening and the other Saturday afternoon. Members host meetings in turn and voluntarily. Before each meeting, the host selects a topic and posts relevant reading material as well as questions for discussion on YOYO’s forum. During the meeting, participants are divided into small groups and discuss the questions in English. At the end of discussion, representatives of each group are required to deliver their conclusion or summary in front of others. Its goal is to help those already equipped with intermediate to upper-intermediate English capabilities to further enhance their conversation skills.
